Celebrating a Record Year!

College Dreams Coming True

A CASA youth graduated highschool in May and received a scholarship to play football at a small college in Washington State. He worked hard, applied for other scholarships, and filled out all the paperwork he needed to get accepted. He is determined to be part of the 3% of foster youth to attend college and beat the odds. His barrier to going has simply been the finances needed to get there and get started.

One June 30th we put the word out on social media. We asked our friends to pitch in so the financial barrier could be removed. This community rose to the occasion. You pulled together $3,573 to help him get to WA and support his dreams.

He flew out on Saturday to begin his journey as a college student athlete and we couldn't be more proud of him. The funds covered his travel expenses, the purchase of essentials, and the rest will be dispersed to him on a schedule to help supplement his part time job. We can't thank you enough for stepping up for this young man and being part of his support system. He headed to WA knowing he has a whole community cheering him on in this next chapter of his life. Thank you, again!

Partnering for Kids

We are excited to partner with DreamTree Como to help kids in our community return to school with the supplies they need to succeed this fall! Free food, games, and school supplies will be available on August 19th from 11-1. We invite you to join us and share this event with anyone who could use a backpack or school supplies this fall.

Looking for a Community Engagement Manager

Heart of Missouri CASA is looking for our newest team member! We are in search of an enthusiastic and outgoing representative for HOM CASA in the Boone and Callaway communities. Key responsibilities include organizing, planning, and communication. This position is an ideal fit for someone who loves to build relationships with other organizations, coordinate events, and generate outreach activities that help communities partner or participate in CASA’s mission.

Training is made up of 15 hours in-person and 15 hours online.
