Hi *{{Informal Name}}*,

Hello and happy Monday to you! I hope the warmer weather is putting a spring in your step as we head into a new week. We have so much to share with you in this month's newsletter, I won't take up your time with a long greeting. Instead, please take the time to read about the exciting things going on around CASA! Also, keep your eyes peeled over the next couple of weeks for more details about some new events we are doing this year!

Thanks, as always, for being a friend of CASA. We are so thankful for you!

Sincerely,

Angela Carson

Development and Marketing Manager

Heart of Missouri CASA

Welcome Tina to the team!

Tina DeClue has joined Heart of Missouri CASA as our newest  Boone County Advocate Supervisor! Tina has worked in social services for the past 26 years with advocacy and case management experience in crisis pregnancy, parenting, domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking, foster care, adoption, homelessness, and hospital advocacy.  In addition, Tina comes with many years of experience in supervision, coordination, and training of volunteers.

During her time working in various roles, Tina saw the importance of being a voice for those who are most vulnerable. Through her work, Tina has seen the importance of CASA volunteers and the impact they have in the life of a child. Tina is thrilled to utilize her past experiences to serve children and families in Boone County.

Yard Sign Campaign

There is still time to join our Yard Sign Campaign! Please help us spread awareness about the important work CASA volunteers do for children in foster care during Child Abuse Prevention Month. Click on the button below to sign up for a yard sign to be placed in your yard, or at your business, organization, or church. Last year, new CASA volunteers stepped up to be a voice for children because they saw these signs around town. It truly makes a difference! The deadline to sign up is March 18th, so don't wait!

Lights. Camera. Take Action.

Please join us on April 21st at Ragtag Cinema as we take a deep dive into the journey of a child in foster care. See the story from behind their eyes, and experience what it is like to be removed from the only home you have ever known and move through the American foster care system. A poignant three-part film, ReMoved, brilliantly tells the story of thousands of kids right here in Missouri. The three films have a total run time of approximately one hour. A talk back time with a former foster youth, CASA volunteers, and staff will follow. Tickets will be $15 in advance and at the door.

Thank you, Kappa Alpha Theta!

We are so grateful for the amazing work and generosity of Mizzou Kappa Alpha Theta! Back in November, they hosted their annual "Flapjacks and Quarterbacks" fundraiser to support the work of Heart of Missouri CASA. We recently received a check from the proceeds of that event for a grand total of $10,153! We are blown away! Thank you, Theta, for your support year after year. You are helping us serve more children in our community through your generous contribution and hard work to pull off this event. We appreciate you so much!
