Hi *{{Informal Name}}*,
Thanks for coming along with us in our mission to serve children in foster care during 2021. Despite the challenges we've faced, more volunteers stepped up to help children over the last year than we've seen in our 15 year history. That's incredible!
In a world where we're flooded with bad news every day, just remember that people are showing up for each other in small, yet significant, ways all of the time. It doesn't make the news very often, but if we look for it, we'll see it. Over the next year, I hope we'll pay more attention to someone holding a door open for another, a customer showing dignity and kindness to the person bagging their groceries, a neighbor taking a meal to a family who is grieving, or a teenager helping his elderly neighbor rake her yard. Let's keep showing up for each other and celebrating the good when we see it.
Thanks for being a friend of CASA and showing up for children in foster care. We wish you a happy holiday season and look forward to making an impact in the lives of children together in 2022!
Sincerely,
Angela Carson Development and Marketing Manager Heart of Missouri CASA
Our annual CoMoGives campaign is in full swing and we are almost half way to our goal of $15,000! We have until December 31st to get there.
$15,000 will provide 600 hours of advocacy for children over the next year!
Why do those 600 hours matter? During that time a CASA volunteer will speak up for a child who needs more educational resources so they can succeed in the classroom. They will advocate for a safe and permanent placement where a child can thrive. They will make sure a child's wishes are known to the judge. They will consistently show up for a child and let them know they care when everything around them is constantly changing.
Those 600 hours will make a life changing impact in the lives of hundreds of children.
If you would like to make a year end gift to help us give 600 life changing hours of advocacy to more children, please click the donate button below! Give A Meaningful Gift!
There is still time to give a meaningful gift this holiday season! Donate $100 and we will send this beautiful card and ornament to the person you want to honor with your gift.
If you want it to arrive before Christmas, donate by Friday, December 17th so we can get it in the mail by Monday December 20th. Also, remember to fill out the "In Honor" section of the donation form!
*If you would like your donation to qualify for the Champion for Children tax credit, please direct your donation to our website or donate by check to Heart of Missouri CASA. ![]() ![]()
Impact Moment Recently a child's attorney (GAL) sent this email to CASA Sharon:
"I just want to thank you and to tell you how much I appreciate all your hard work on this case. You are extremely thorough and diligent, and very careful about following up about issues to make sure important things don't slip through the cracks. Just as importantly, you always share your concerns, opinions, and ideas with the rest of the family support team, and keep us all in the loop on everything you're doing to help Annie. I really appreciate being able to count on your input and support and hard work in this case, and even if Annie doesn't say it or even realize everything you're doing for her, I expect she does, too."
CASA volunteers like Sharon provide tremendous support to the professional team who are charged with making decisions on behalf of a child. Our goal is to give every child in foster care the same powerful advocacy that Annie has from Sharon. ![]()
