What's New at CASA?

Callaway County Office 

With immense community support, Heart of Missouri CASA has grown by leaps and bounds this past year. Thanks to the generosity of Central Bank, we have an exciting new office space across from the courthouse in Fulton at 404 Market St. Several local businesses supported our move in to the space. Thank you to La Crosse Lumber for donating paint, Carpet Values for contributing carpet tiles, Youth180 and Mike Wolfmeier Construction for painting, and Allied Sawing & Services for moving our furniture. This new space is more than we could've asked for and will facilitate our continued growth in Callaway County! 

 
Board of Directors 

New Members
We've had the pleasure of welcoming two new board members to our team in the last few months, Elizabeth Blake and Charles Parrish. Elizabeth is a CPA, working at Agents National Title Insurance as their Controller. She's called Columbia home for many years, and has put her expertise to use as the treasurer of many organizations and PTA groups. We're fortunate to have her on our team. Charles is a Regional Franchisee for H&R Block, overseeing 12 offices in Missouri and Kansas. He joined the board after finishing a 3-year CASA case in 2017. He and his wife, Lisa, who has also served as a CASA volunteer, are active in the foster care community. We are excited for the enthusiasm and expertise Charles and Elizabeth bring to the HOM CASA board! 

Thank You to Mark & Traci Kennedy
We'd like to extend a special thank you to Mark and Traci Kennedy who both finished their service to the HOM CASA board in 2017. Mark and Traci both fulfilled 3 terms on the board, serving 6 years each. Mark served as our Treasurer, and Traci as the Chair for most of her tenure. They provided expertise, leadership, and guidance during the agency's transformative years. We're extremely thankful for the time they gave to HOM CASA!

We are currently looking for new board members to add to to our team! We're seeking individuals with expertise in HR, marketing, fundraising, non-profit development, and individuals from Callaway County, but we are eager to talk with anyone passionate about our mission! On February 13th and 14th, a great group of new CASA volunteers was sworn in at the Boone and Callaway County courthouses. They made it through the 30-hour training class and are excited to be a voice for a child!
