Champion for Children Tax Credits
The Champion for Children Tax Credit is an opportunity for donors who give $72 or more each year to support CASA. Eligible donors can receive a state income tax credit worth up to 70% of their donation, significantly reducing the amount of state taxes they owe.
The credit is available to both individuals and businesses, and the maximum credit per taxpayer per year is $50,000. This means your gift not only strengthens advocacy for children in foster care—it also provides a meaningful financial benefit to you.
By giving through this program, you can double the impact of your generosity: helping children in crisis today while receiving a valuable tax advantage.
Here’s how to receive the up to 70% CFC Tax Credit: Make a donation to Heart of Missouri CASA before midnight on December 31. To qualify for the CFC tax credit the minimum contribution is $100.
At the beginning of January, you will receive an acknowledgement letter and tax credit application form with instructions. Tax credits may be applied to the tax year in which the donation was made or any portion of the tax credit not claimed may be carried over to the next four succeeding tax years. The credit is nonrefundable.
