Justice is Served 2017
Wine and Jazz Night
Thank you to everyone who supported Justice is Served this year! We had an amazing evening highlighting the important work of CASA volunteers in our community and raising almost $35,000 to further our mission of providing a CASA volunteer to every abused and neglected child in the Boone and Callaway County Family Courts.
Thank you to Columbia Mayor Brian Treece for being an engaging Emcee for the evening. Thank you 13th Circuit Family Court Commissioner Sara Miller for speaking eloquently about the importance of CASA volunteers to the court and the need for more CASA volunteers.
CASA Collaborative Painting
A highlight of the night was the opportunity for guests to Make Their Mark on a CASA Collaborative Painting with Jenny McGee, a professional abstract expressionist who has been featured on HGTV and whose work hangs in numerous public and private collections. Some of her clients include HGTV’s designer Kelli Ellis, Boone County National Bank, Sigfreid Bingham Law Firm, Midwest Transplant Network and Boone Hospital. Recently her work has been featured on HGTV’s House Hunter’s Renovation.
After the event, the piece was taken to McGee’s local studio where she finished the painting and offered to contribute 100% of the sale’s proceeds back to HOMC. Former Board Members Mark and Traci Kennedy purchased the painting. The Kennedys both served on the Board of Directors during a time period of tremendous growth for the organization and feel a deep connection to its people.
“CASA volunteers are the truest of servants working diligently to be a voice for abused and neglected children. Their stories and those of the children served will stay with us forever. We will cherish this beautiful piece as a reminder of lives impacted and changed by CASA. We’re sharing our story because we hope others will be encouraged to get involved with CASA and find a place in their home for a Jenny McGee piece, she is truly amazing!” – Mark & Traci
Justice Is Served 2016
Thank you to all our sponsors and guests!
Justice is Served 2016 was a huge success thanks to many generous sponsors and supporters! Over $40,000 was raised to support the mission of Heart of Missouri CASA. We had a wonderful time celebrating the work of CASA volunteers while also honoring former State Treasurer Clint Zweifel and his advocacy for youth across the state.
