Join Lutheran Family and Children’s Services of Mid-Missouri & HeartSpace Clinic in partnership with the Columbia Foster & Adoption Project, for Empowered to Connect, an insightful training for foster parents, adoptive parents, counselors, teachers, social workers, therapists, direct care providers, Children’s Division staff, daycare providers, pediatricians, CASA, and more. Together we will learn about Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), a therapeutic model that provides effective support and treatment for at-risk children. TBRI has been applied in orphanages, courts, residential treatment facilities, group homes, foster and adoptive homes, churches, and schools. Empowered to Connect is a two-day conference that is presented via simulcast in coordination with Show Hope and The Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University. This conference is designed to help anyone who helps support children who have experienced trauma or come from hard places.
