Join us for our upcoming Missouri Learning Session!
Training Opportunities to Help Youth Obtain Education and Employment
Register today for the Missouri Learning Sessions, a monthly webinar series hosted by Foster Care to Success (FC2S). These sessions are targeted to staff working with teens and young adults in foster care. Our upcoming session will offer information and strategies that will help you to:
- Engage youth in conversations about postsecondary planning so they can find the path that’s right for them;
- Work with youth to align their aptitudes, interests and life circumstances with a postsecondary program;
- Learn about resources in your local community to support literacy, career planning and employment readiness.
We know you’re incredibly busy so the sessions are limited to 30 minutes. We’ll spend the first 15-20 minutes sharing information and resources and the remaining time will be used for question and answer as well as discussion. During our February session, there was considerable discussion about how to motivate older youth in high school. We reached out to our FC2S alumni and posed your questions to them. Our upcoming session will include strategies for engaging high school-aged youth and helping them realize that high school matters!
Session #3 is entitled, Engaging Youth in High School: Reflections from FC2S Alumni. Registration will be limited to 25 attendees per session. We have six sessions scheduled for your convenience; note that we’ll cover the same content during each webinar so please register for only one session.
